GAME RULES 5th/6th
-
Games have two 16-minute halves with a running clock, which stops only for timeouts, injuries, and the final 2 minutes of each half.
-
Each team must provide a scorekeeper at the scorer’s table (home team is the official book).
-
Free substitutions are allowed, but every player must play at least once in each half.
-
Each team receives one full (60-second) timeout and two 30-second timeouts per game.
-
Teams must play man-to-man defense only – no zone defense is allowed.
-
Pressing (full-court defense) is allowed for the entire second half, but not if leading by 15 or more points.
-
No double-teaming outside of the paint; referees may call a technical foul for repeated violations.
-
Stealing is allowed, but if a team is up by 15+ points, players may not steal off the dribble (only passes).
-
No intentional stalling on offense – teams must actively play.
-
Games that end in a tie go to one 2-minute overtime; if still tied, the first team to score after a jump ball wins.
-
Foul shots follow OHSAA rules (unlike 3rd/4th, players must shoot from the regular free-throw line).
